David Cummins

David is a veteran of the Los Angeles film, television and music industry. His primary focus and expertise are in post-production, including creative editorial/mastering, facility design/engineering, on-set, media management and digital imaging for motion picture and television production.

 

David’s career began at MCA Records as a Preditor (Producer/Editor) making music videos and concert performances for Bell Biv Devoe, Sheena Easton, Jody Watley, Public Enemy, Tom Petty and other major artists. David was awarded two Gold Videos by the Recording Industry Association of America for his work on the home video releases of The New Edition and Tom Petty.

 

David eventually transitioned into film work where he worked on location on several productions including 127 Hours. David worked with Oscar winner Danny Boyle, (Slum Dog Millionaire) serving as the digital media supervisor for 127 Hours where he co-engineered and implementing the digital media pipeline from onset acquisition through post production.

 

In October of 2015, David took a hiatus from the industry, moved to Salt Lake City and signed on for a two-year service with AmeriCorps where he served at the Volunteers of America, Youth Resource Center where he worked with youth experiencing homelessness.

 

David recently made the transition to documentary filmmaker and has been developing three projects forward.
